YOUR STATE OF MIND AND HEALTH CAN BE SEEN IN YOUR EYES

The eyes are the mirror of the soul. But not just that, unfortunately: they also reflect fatigue or age.

The area around the eyes is, in fact, the first place where clear signals are launched, just like grey hair, so much so that the appearance of the first lines around the eyes is one that few people forget. Obviously, it is not a disaster, but why not prevent them and take care of this delicate area on the face? Firstly, let’s find out why this area in particular is such an evident indication of the very signs which we would rather not see.

The skin in the entire area around the eyes is very thin with little subcutaneous fat and few elastic fibres and collagen. Moreover, blood and lymph circulation is relatively slow. All these factors contribute towards making this area particularly sensitive to external attacks and also makes it more likely to retain liquids: the ideal combination for the formation of puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles.

Let’s take a closer look at what these blemishes consist of.

Puffiness. The eyelids are made up of microscopic folds of skin tissue which give them their ability to stretch. However, it is this characteristic in particular which makes them immediately vulnerable to the consequences of the natural loss of elasticity. The small pockets of liquids and fat are thus transformed into bags.

Dark circles. When the micro-circulation of the area around the eyes slows down, liquids and blood accumulate which give the skin its typical bluish colour. As you get older, the skin gets thinner and the dark circles under the eyes become more marked.

Wrinkles. The loss of the skin’s elasticity means that the continuous movements to which it is subjected in the areas around the eyes contributes towards the formation of wrinkles. It is not just external factors that have an influence, but also the muscles which we use thousands of times a day to give our eyes their expressiveness.

To protect such a delicate area of the face, it is a good idea to use specific products, from around the age of 30 onwards, aimed at making sure the peripheral blood vessel network functions correctly, preventing discolouration around the eyes, whilst strengthening the skin this area and toning it.

With the right product, a small daily gesture can prevent and slow down the appearance of lines and blemishes, whilst keeping eyes looking bright for as long as possible.
